Lumiscope 1080 Deluxe Auto Inflate Blood Pressure Monitor

To allow for the inevitable dips and spikes in blood pressure over the course of 24 hours, it's a good idea to take readings at the same time and under the same conditions every day. The ideal time to measure "base blood pressure" is in the morning just after waking up, before daily activities like eating and exercising can alter the results. Hence, the Lumiscope 1080 blood-pressure monitor, a sturdy, larger-sized model that also functions as an alarm clock so you can put it beside your bed and reach for it as soon as you wake up. The preformed arm cuff with positioning label is easy and quick to fit with one hand, and during the day, it stores away neatly in the monitor's self-contained case. (The cuff also fits those with an arm circumference of 12-1/2 to 16-1/2 inches--a larger size than typical models). It automatically inflates to the appropriate level for your individual blood pressure, and then deflates at the correct rate. The extra large display alternately shows blood pressure and pulse rate, and the monitor turns off automatically after several minutes without use, to save those AA batteries. Best of all, the memory function stores up to 30 measurements and displays them (in both numeric and graphic form) from most recent to oldest or as average values. You don't even need to write down your blood-pressure readings in order to track them, although a blood-pressure record log is included in case you'd like to. --Mary Park
